Letter: Impeachment consequences – Anchorage Daily News

I had hopes that Donald Trump would have to be accountable and suffer consequences for trying to poison democracy and decency and prevent a peaceful transition of power by seeding and cultivating the horrors of Jan. 6.

In the spirit of Will Rogers, we have the best Congress that money and self-serving ambition can buy. There is still hope that the 14th Amendment and a later criminal trial as a citizen will bring healing for the country and inspire a just future for all our children and grandchildren.

I am grateful to the House managers for being the true faces of America and for presenting a case that will be a legacy for the history books. Thanks also for the courage of some Republicans who had the integrity to think of the higher good, including Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
