So you’re going to vote for Joe Biden but are undecided on the Dan Sullivan/Al Gross race? Consider this scenario.
A man who is president of a bank walks in the very busy bank’s front door, robs it and exits the bank. A short time later, he is arrested by the police for allegedly robbing his bank. While the police are trying to gather witnesses, his trial comes up. The police are trying to gather witnesses but not having much success, because a number of the witnesses are executives of the bank and the bank president says they can’t testify because I don’t want them to. The prosecutors say OK, we agree with that. The other witnesses are private citizens who saw everything as did the bank executives, but the prosecutors do not want to hear what they have to say. Their reasoning is that the alleged bank-robbing president says that he did not do it and they believe him. Therefore, there is no need to hear what those other witnesses have to say. Of course, the trial is now over and the bank president gets off as a free man, allegedly.
As you might have figured out, the above is a little parody of President Donald Trump’s impeachment. The police are the House of Representatives, the prosecutors are the Senate and the alleged bank robber is Trump. Not all of the police thought the President was guilty (Rep. Don Young) and one of the prosecutors was Dan Sullivan. If you believe they did a poor job, now is the time to fire both of them. As Trump likes to say, “You’re fired.”
